Robert Josef Kubica, (Cracóvia, 7 de dezembro de 1984) é um automobilista polonês.

Ganhou a Série Mundial pela Renault em 2005. Em 2006, passou a ser pilotos de testes da BMW Sauber. A partir do Grande Prêmio da Hungria, do mesmo ano, passou a ser titular da equipe, substituindo o campeão mundial Jacques Villeneuve.Em 10 de junho de 2007, sofreu um gravíssimo acidente durante o Grande Prêmio do Canadá. Apesar da gravidade do acidente, e de uma informação de que teria quebrado a perna, Kubica saiu quase ileso da batida, sofrendo apenas uma torção no tornozelo e uma contusão leve.

Na terceira corrida da temporada de 2008, o Grande Prêmio do Bahrein, conquistou sua primeira pole position na categoria[1].

Na sétima corrida da temporada de 2008, o Grande Prémio do Canadá, disputado na pista onde em 2007, sofreu um violento acidente, conquistou a sua primeira vitória na categoria, batendo o seu companheiro Nick Heidfeld, segundo colocado.

Em 7 de outubro de 2009, Kubica foi anunciado como novo piloto da Renault para a temporada de 2010, substituindo o espanhol Fernando Alonso.

Em 6 de Fevereiro de 2011, durante a pré-temporada da Fórmula 1, Kubica participou do rali "Ronde di Andora", na Itália, pilotando o carro Skoda Fabia. Durante o evento, porém, o polonês perdeu o controle de seu carro e colidiu contra a proteção lateral da pista, que atravessou o motor e o cockpit, atingindo o piloto.[7][8] Kubica sofreu traumatismos múltiplos em seu braço direito, perna e mão. Seu co-piloto, Jakub Gerber, escapou com poucos ferimentos.[9] Devido a gravidade dos ferimentos, chegou-se a considerar a amputação da mão do piloto, no entanto essa possibilidade acabou sendo descartada.[10] O piloto teve de passar por uma cirurgia que durou sete horas.[11] Três dias antes, Kubica chegou a participar dos treinos coletivos da pré-temporada da Fórmula 1, realizados em Valência, marcando o melhor tempo dentre

Despite the severity of the accident, and a report that they had a broken leg, Kubica emerged virtually unscathed from the crash, suffering only a sprained ankle and a mild concussion.

In the third race of the 2008 season, the Grand Prix of Bahrain, won his first pole position in the category [1].

In the seventh race of the 2008 season, the Canadian Grand Prix, held at the track where in 2007, suffered a violent accident, won its first class victory, beating his partner Nick Heidfeld, second place.

On October 7, 2009, Kubica was announced as the new Renault driver for the 2010 season, replacing the Spaniard Fernando Alonso.

On February 6, 2011, during pre-season of F1, Kubica took part in the rally "Ronde di Andora, Italy, driving the car Skoda Fabia. During the event, however, the Pole lost control of his car and crashed into the side protection of the runway, which went through the engine and cockpit, hitting the pilot. [7] [8] Kubica suffered multiple injuries on his right arm, leg and hand. His co-pilot, Jakub Gerber, escaped with few injuries. [9] Given the severity of injuries, came to consider amputation of the hand of the pilot, however this option was eventually discarded. [10] The pilot had to pass an operation that lasted seven hours.
